Ambassador of Latvia Jānis Sīlis accredited to Portugal

On 3 April 2018, in an official ceremony, the Ambassador of Latvia Jānis Sīlis presented his letters of credence to the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

In a conversation following the accreditation ceremony, the parties emphasised the good and friendly bilateral relations between both countries. The Ambassador extended greetings from the President of Latvia, Raimonds Vējonis, to the President of Portugal and invited him to pay a visit to Latvia. Jānis Sīlis expressed his commitment to work towards an even more intensive Latvian-Portuguese bilateral cooperation and a state-to-state dialogue.
Ambassador Jānis Sīlis resides in Dublin, Ireland, and has succeeded Alda Vanaga in his post of a non-resident Ambassador.
